in search of ... William Campbell (1851)

The 1851/1852 Census of Canada West shows William Campbell (33) still living at Cold Springs in Hamilton Township together with Sarah A. Campbell (27), William H. Campbell (4) and Sylvester Campbell (3).

In 1853 William and Sarah Ann Campbell will produce a third son, John, who will live only a couple of months, dying on 17 March 1853. John Campbell is buried in the Cold Springs Pioneers Memorial Cemetery. A year later Sarah Ann Campbell will die on 3 May 1854 and be buried in the same plot as her son, John Campbell. William Campbell will marry a local girl, Isabella Jane Sidey, a couple of years later and they will begin producing a second "blended" family at Cold Springs in Hamilton Township.
